Wellness Can’t Wait

It’s said that “good things come to those who wait”. Patience is an important virtue, yet when we’re sick, waiting can be detrimental. Waiting allows small health issues to grow, so the sooner you take action, the better it will be for you. You can’t wait to feel better; your health needs to be your top priority.

When you’re ill, your body is trying to tell you that something is wrong. Illness is your body’s way of communicating that something is missing or that something you’re doing is actually harming yourself. Healing requires you to have a conversation with yourself about yourself.

Illness can bring you closer to yourself or farther away. If you’re able to look at yourself and evaluate what’s missing and what habits are harmful, you’ll learn so much about your body and yourself. If you aren’t able to turn inward, you’ll have no option but to turn to outside sources.

This is why people will feel they have no other choice but to throw themselves to the mercy of medical professionals, which is a bit irresponsible. Your body is trying to tell you what’s wrong, and doctors can’t hear exactly what your body is saying. This is why it is vital that you are a part of your healing process. Not just following your doctor’s instructions, but questioning your treatment so you understand what’s being given to you, researching all your options, and testing alternatives.

After all, doctors are only human. Medicine is advancing everyday so professionals can’t know everything. Even within the last 100 years alone, medicine has changed so much. Looking back on medical practices from then, they were barbaric, though at the time it’s what they believed was best.

Regardless of the methods you use, during your wellness journey, be with yourself. Be mindful of the energies inside of yourself and respect them. Even if those energies are currently causing you to feel ill, by respecting them and learning to understand them, they won’t control you anymore. You’ll be able to gain back power.

Moving forward, I’ll be featuring stories of people that I’ve met and interviewed, people who didn’t wait and decided to seek their own healing. You’ll be able to hear first hand from men and women who had been turned away by medical professionals who told them there was nothing more to do so they took matters into their own hands and got better.

You can do the same. You can decide to stop waiting and take charge of your health today.
