Doing good for others not only lets you help those in need, but also makes you feel better too. Whether you’re donating your time, money, or efforts, helping others boosts your happiness and health. Being able to support foundations and companies who spread good lets you feel good in that same way.
Who Gives A Crap is an Australian toilet paper production company that’s dedicated to making the world a better place and making people laugh.
Simon, Jehan, and Danny founded Who Gives A Crap in July 2012 through crowdfunding website IndieGoGo after they learned that 2.3 billion people don’t have access to a toilet. That’s roughly 40% of the world’s population!
That’s why Who Gives A Crap donate 50% of their profits. These donations go to improving sanitation in the developing world and helping build toilets for those in need. To date they’ve donated over $2.5m Australian dollars (that’s the equivalent of just under $1,900,000 U.S. dollars) to charity!
Their toilet paper, tissues, and paper towels are made with 100% recycled materials so their products are good for the environment. Additionally, they’re free of inks, dyes, and scents so they’re also “good for your bum”.
Being able to see their rolls of toilet paper whenever I’m in the bathroom helps bring a smile to my face. Originally it was simply because of the funny jokes on the packaging when I first saw their products. Now it’s also because I know that I’m helping them do good in the world.
Regardless of what foundations and companies you support, as long as you are helping others do good it will do good for you too.
